Hello!

My name is Sophie and for as long as I can remember, I have loved dogs!

From watching homeward bound on repeat to a ‘Snatch the Dog’ themed bedroom (90’s girls will know!) - it is safe to say I was obsessed with all things dog!

I have dogs of my own - Jarvis and Joey - the craziest, most loving pair of spaniels who are my absolute world. They are the inspiration behind this business and I am so grateful for the joy they bring to the world every day.

During my twenties I ran a successful cafe in the heart of Leamington for over 10 years, until its closure in 2020. A few months later I landed myself an admin job working from home.

What I thought would be a perfect job - no more 5am alarms and plenty of time at home with my boys! - soon began to drag. The more time I spent indoors at my desk, the more I longed to be outside being active.

I had known for some time that I wanted to set up my own dog walking service, but the timing had to be right, so I could be sure that I could offer the best service possible to my clients.

I wasn’t ready to leave my admin job just yet, so in my spare time I studied dog training courses, took dog first aid classes and shadowed other professional dog walkers whenever I had the chance - I had even decided on the name of my business years before it came to fruition!

And after a long time of daydreaming out of my office window, I decided that it was now or never for me to fulfil my dreams.

I started walking a small group of gorgeous pups and soon built up a larger client base, which has afforded me the time to focus all of my energy into making Hound & Ground a success.

These have been the happiest days for me and my dogs, and we can’t wait to see the pack grow in 2025!
